The Duchess of Cambridge and Her Royal Red Carpet

...So after all the pomp of THAT breathtaking royal wedding I promised myself I wouldn't be writing anymore about the most talked about Royal couple of our generation, mostly because every media outlet, fashion site, newspaper, magazine, etc. has taken it upon themselves to bombard, er provide, us with continuous around the clock coverage of every single move the quintessentially perfect Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka Prince William and Kate Middleton to those of us who knew them when, have made since they became royally engaged. In fact William and Kate's most recent tour of Canada  demonstrated how the world is utterly obsessed with the royal couple's ease and poise, and of course most of all with Kate's wardrobe choices. Since her engagement Kate has upped her sometimes old fashioned mumsy elegance to a more youthful and fashionable sensibility. Particularly understated and utterly perfect was Kate's choice of a diaphanous Alexander McQueen gown for the Duke and Duchess' high profile BAFTA 'Brits To Watch' event in Los Angeles yesterday. It was the big celebrity event where chosen taut and awe-struck A-listers got the chance to mingle and share their wisdom with the famous Royal couple. Also in attendance were Nicole Kidman's fake lips, Jennifer Lopez's tacky display of flesh, and Blake Lively (who invited her?)...
Well done Kate, keep outshining those plastic Hollywood types. Goodbye awful clunky black satin heels, hello nude leather L.K. Bennetts!

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton

It was truly a fairytale wedding, and if you could only see me now: a messy nest of red hair, bleary eyed and delirious as I drag my sleepy self back to bed because I had some crazy idea to stay up all night and watch the Royal Wedding (which was super fun by the way). Despite currently speaking only gibberish because my tongue is fast asleep, I still have some magic energy left in my excited fingers to write and post some amazing photos of today's epic occasion, courtesy of Dailymail UK and People.com. What we now know? Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton is the official designer of Kate Middleton's absolutely beautiful lace Grace Kelly inspired dress, the worst crimes of fashion today were committed by Royal cousins Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their aunt Princess Anne, Victoria Beckham's 10 inch heels could've been a tad higher, the PM's wife Samantha Cameron wore Burberry and her HAT was apparently out sick, Prince Harry is absolutely charming and adorably disheveled, and Prince William never looked handsomer than when he kissed his bride twice on the Royal balcony...
William to Kate: "You look beautiful"
Modern and perfect: Royal dress by Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton
HRH Queen Elizabeth is regal and on-trend in buttery yellow
Mother of the bride Carole Middleton
The handsome Princes. PS. love the trouser stripes

Best dressed couple Prince Charles and Camilla
Maid of Honor (and '80's eyeliner devotee) Philippa Middleton and bridesmaids
Crimes of Fashion: Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
One angry grasshopper and one big turkey landing on their heads...
First Lady Samantha Cameron in Burberry. Apparently Hat is out sick

David and Victoria Beckham. Hunny you're pregnant, and a pair of ludicrous Louboutins will still not make you as tall as the Archbishop...
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson sports enormous blue vagina headwear.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and his stunning wife Miriam Gonzalez
There were loads of HATS.....
Guy Ritchie...Madonna's punching a wall right about now in her best British accent...
Elton John and David Furnish leave their bling at home
Prince Albert of Monaco and fiancee Charlene Wittstock
My boyfriend Prince Felipe of Spain (please lose the beard) flanked by his mother Queen Sofia and his Liliputian wife Letizia, looking dusty in rose tones and sporting one very depressed looking hat

"I Royally Do"

Unless you're still hibernating deep in the forest of winter or you live in a time capsule beneath the earth's surface, you are most likely holding your breath for the most anticipated Royal nuptials of the decade taking place this very Friday! Yes, the countdown is almost over for British balding royal Prince William and fresh-faced commoner Kate Middleton who will say their 'I Royally Do's' at Westminster Abbey on April 29th. The U.K. is in fact my own royal birthplace, and anglophile is high on my list of character descriptions. As a wee girl I fondly remember watching the original Royal wedding on my grandmother's telly, mesmerized, as Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles' royal coach made its crowd besieged way from St. Paul's Cathedral. William and Kate's big day is definitely the stuff of pomp and excitement, I mean you could just swoon with envy over the long and tender love story of these two college sweethearts; and you could cry your eyes out in bitter jealousy for the very same reason. Most amazing to me, however, is just how besotted we Americans have become with British wedding fever, from the never ending coverage of who designed Kate's wedding dress, to those lucky beasts who made the exclusive guest list, to what flavour of biscuits (US=cookies) Wills has commissioned for the big occasion... And what about all those sweet ladies who will be watching the big day from their television sets, wearing nothing but an enormous flowered Hat? In fact at the end of the day it could all just make one feel a little vomitous, so I'm thankful for Lydia Leith's Official Wedding Sick Bags...for those of us who've had it up to our nasal passages with Royal wedding chatter.
You'll want to keep one handy on April 29th....!
