Proenza Schouler Spring 2013: Last of NY Fashion Week

I know we've just arrived in London for the next installment of Fashion Week, however I couldn't help but share my utter excitement over Proenza Schouler's exquisite runway collection for Spring 2013 which was shown earlier this week in New York. It's rare that I take a liking to almost every look belonging to a single collection, but those perforated patent leather jackets, those printed dresses, the geometric cuts, and divinely bold colors make this collection a must have for Spring....

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013: Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Diane von Furstenberg....

Traditionally at this hour I would be elbow deep in dressing models backstage at New York Fashion week. However being that I am currently in Paris, the fashionable city that does eventually go to sleep at a too reasonable hour, I will be catching you and myself up with the latest NY runway collections, as I sit and write from le Cafe Metro in the lovely Saint German de Pres neighborhood.
Some of my choice collections so far....

Vogue Fashion Night Out PARIS Edition!

Bonjour from beautiful and quaint Paris!! I arrived here just a few days ago and even though I have yet to sample a baguette and coffee only the French know how to make, so far I've enjoyed navigating my way through the Metro, a beautiful sunset walk along the Seine, the sparkling magic of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night, and the jolly atmosphere of busy cafes filled with melodic French chatter. Of course one massive highlight was last night's Paris version of Fashion Night Out which simultaneously took place in New York and all across the globe. As I pushed my way through the throngs of fashionable looking people I could just make out the official VOGUE mini car and CHLOE truck making their way down Rue Saint- Honore, one of Paris' most haute and stylish streets. Hundreds of leather jacket and sunglasses clad fashionistas lined the pavements waiting for entry into participating FNO stores such as Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, Alberta Ferretti (thank you for the fab polaroid souvenir of moi), Moncler, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, and so many others. I managed to use my RedPoppy clout for swift entry into many of the in-store parties and entertainment, however stores like Chanel and Givenchy insisted on keeping to a strict exclusive invitation only policy via burly door bouncers with one word vocabularies: FERME (closed).....
Here are some of my personal snaps of the fashion in action. Until next time, au revoir!! xoxo

Sonia Rykiel Fall 2012 Campaign

There is a very good reason why Paris is the fashion capital of the world, and that is quite simply because French fashion never ceases to inspire and amaze. It is always chic and sophisticated without ever being dull.  Sonia Rykiel, for example, is one quintessentially Parisian brand which incites all sorts of quaint street-corner/coffee shop daydreams a la Saint German. In fact RedPoppy will be making her way to Paris in September just so she can blog from that quaint little coffee shop around the corner... Until then, here are some fab images from Sonia Rykiel's Fall 2012 campaign....Bonne Nuit! xo

LANVIN Mini pop metallic python pouch

Oh boy, we are loving (and simultaneously breaking one of the 10 Commandments: 'Do not Covet...") this exotically gorgeous gold metallic python pouch by Lanvin. It's luxuriously chic, and would look utterly amazing worn with basically anything in my wardrobe. At the exotic price of $2, 435 however, it shall remain, for moi, much like those museum relics...perched on a glass shelf for me to ogle every once in a while.....

Goodbye London Olympics

Well it has indeed been a fabulous and exciting two weeks watching the Olympics in London from the comfort of my television screen. Between dazzling gymnastics routines and hottie amphibian swimmer Ryan Lochte,  there's no doubt we will miss all the excitement and emotion of the games. Here are some photos from the closing ceremonies, which included some spicy girls and an iconically British Kate Moss...
