Proenza Schouler Spring 2013: Last of NY Fashion Week

I know we've just arrived in London for the next installment of Fashion Week, however I couldn't help but share my utter excitement over Proenza Schouler's exquisite runway collection for Spring 2013 which was shown earlier this week in New York. It's rare that I take a liking to almost every look belonging to a single collection, but those perforated patent leather jackets, those printed dresses, the geometric cuts, and divinely bold colors make this collection a must have for Spring....

Deviated Peplum

I have always been drawn to a peplum. That little bit of flounce and ruffle bursting quietly from a  fitted waist gives just the right amount of flare. It made its suiting debut in the 1940's, and came back with an acid wash vengeance in the 1980's. Lucky for us it's made the Fall 2011-12 hot list, with slight deviations from its original prim affair. Popping up on oh-so-many must have pieces, from jackets to skirts, to tops and sweaters, hopefully the peplum is here to stay for just a bit longer...
