It is worth going to London's Design Museum on the South Bank just for the stunning views of the Tower Bridge. Besides the view, there is a fascinating exhibit by visionary designer Hussein Chalayan, open through May 17, presenting 15 years of the designer's highly innovative, conceptual, and experimental designs, often using futuristic technology and thought provoking themes. 'Readings’ shows a dress comprising over 200 moving red lasers presenting an incredible spectacle of light, while 'Absent Presence' features redhead Tilda Swinton in a video short examining women's DNA sequences.
The top floor of the museum features the 'Oscars' of the design world, where the most forward-looking designs spanning several categories including architecture, fashion, and transport, are nominated for the Brit Insurance Design Awards. Among the chosen few is the now iconic Barack Obama campaign poster designed by Shepard Fairey.
