CHANEL's Resort/Cruise 2009 show took place last week on Venice's Lido beach with breathtaking views of the sunset and sand, a perfect setting and ode to Mademoiselle Coco Chanel's favorite summer getaway. The collection felt very 1930's, with nostalgic black and white sailor stripes worn with classic Chanel cap-toe flats, as well as drop-dead elegant suits only Chanel can conjure, and flowy chiffon printed dresses, all spectacularly understated. Mr. Karl Lagerfeld continues to knock my cheap socks off with his never-ending genius. This collection was, in one word, wow. Photos courtesy of Chanel, borrowed from style.com
