Wowing at Cannes: A Look Back

As I head into a long, and what looks to be a humid (cue very large hair) Memorial Day Weekend here in New York City, I look back on almost two weeks of celebrity spotting, boat hopping, and film festival screenings that was had in the party city of Cannes. With a touch of melancholy I salute the movies and actors who were awarded for their excellence, and of course take a quick look back at more of the Wow worthy Red Carpet fashions that made the Cannes Film Festival what it was. Absolutely noteworthy by the way is actress Kirsten Dunst, whose film Melancholia not only wowed the festival critics, but whose red carpet A- report card (thanks to one eyesore of a dress) could teach young starlets a thing or two about taste and elegance....
So without further adieu let's take a look at the Wowing:

CANNES Do @ The 64th CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

From May 11-22 the French Riviera is besieged with celebrity and glamour for this years' 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival. It's where Brad and Angelina leave the kids at home, polish up real nice, and flash those toothy grins for a million blinding flashbulbs; it's where pretty and annoying young celebrities like uber couple Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson frolic in their fashion finest at night and lazy around all day on a luxury yacht; it's where 1990's mega couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas remind us they are still in love when we know better....Never mind the quality films that are being screened and judged, the true spirit of sunny Cannes is really all about celebrities from the world over outdoing each other on the red carpet for those morning photo calls and evening screenings, so put on your sunglasses and let's take a look at some of the fab (and mostly neutral-hued) fashions which created a flashbulb frenzy or two...
